Cosplay measurements are the body numbers you match against a seller's size chart: height, bust or chest, waist, hips and shoulder width for almost every costume, plus a few extras for wigs, boots and fitted pieces. This page is the sheet to write them on, in centimeters, because that is the unit Taobao size charts are written in.

Quick answer For most cosplay you need five measurements in centimeters: height, bust or chest, waist, hips and shoulder width. Add sleeve length, pant length, head circumference and foot length when the costume calls for them. Use a conversion chart only to find your starting row. The seller's own size chart, in centimeters, decides the size.
The Cosplay Measurements Sheet
The sheet has two parts: six numbers every costume needs, and a second set you fill in only when the piece calls for it. Print this page, or copy the tables into a notes app or a spreadsheet. It works as a costume measurement sheet for any build, bought or sewn.
The second column is the label to look for on a Chinese size chart, so your number lines up with the right column.

Three rules keep the sheet honest:
- Centimeters only: If your tape reads inches, multiply by 2.54.
- Record what you measured over: A chest number taken in a binder and one taken without are two different numbers. The sheet should say which one it holds.
- Measure twice: If the two tries disagree, take a third. Date the sheet and redo it when your body or your underlayers change.

Cosplay Size Chart: Taobao to US, UK and EU in Centimeters
There is no fixed conversion between a Taobao size and a US, UK or EU size, because every Taobao shop draws its own chart. What does convert is centimeters. The tables below turn the size you normally wear into centimeters, so you know which row of the seller's chart to look at first.
The figures are Nike's published size charts for women's tops and men's tops, as read on October 1, 2026. They are one brand's numbers. Another brand's M covers a slightly different range, which is why this is a starting point and not an answer.
How to use it:
- Find the size you usually wear and read across to its centimeters.
- On the listing's chart, find the row whose bust or chest, waist and hip numbers sit closest to that range. Ignore the letter on that row.
- Check that row against your own sheet. Your measurements and the seller's chart decide. When they disagree with this table, the table loses.

Nike lists men's tops by letter, with no separate US, UK or EU numbers, so this table has none.

There is no Taobao column, on purpose. Chinese cosplay sizing typically runs one to two sizes smaller than US sizing, but the gap changes from shop to shop. Any single letter in that column would be wrong for most listings, so a Chinese size chart to US sizes only stays honest in centimeters.
Some listings skip letters and print a tag like 160/84A. That one needs no conversion at all: it is the wearer's height and bust in centimeters. The sizing guide explains the letter at the end.
Chinese Shoe Size to US, UK and EU, by Foot Length
Convert shoes by foot length, not by the number on the box. China's shoe size standard (GB/T 43293-2022) labels a shoe with the foot length it fits in millimeters, so a boot marked 240 is made for a 24 cm foot.

Look at 24.5 cm in both tables. Nike's women's chart calls that foot an EU 39, and its men's chart calls it an EU 40. Same brand, same foot, one EU size apart.
If one brand's two charts disagree with each other, the 38 on a Taobao boot listing is not a number to convert. Match your foot length to the 脚长 column in the listing and treat the size number as a label.

Table 3 is the one organizers skip and then miss. Next to each size picked, copy the centimeters from that row of the seller's chart. Anyone in the group can then see the size was chosen by numbers, and which numbers.
Two things to know before the group orders through us:

- The seller note: Leave your chest, waist and hip numbers and any fit question. We raise it with the seller for you.
- The quality check: It is optional: $5 per item, selected by default, and you can switch it off before checkout. It looks for the wrong item, the wrong color, visible damage and missing pieces. It cannot tell whether a costume fits you, so the sheet is the only fit check you get.
